Since 2012, the students of the prestigious HRC Culinary Academy, Bulgaria’s premiere culinary institute, have been cooking up a storm at Talents Restaurant Sofia near the National Palace of Culture in the capital. As the only student-operated restaurant in Eastern Europe, this place has become beloved by locals who want to satisfy their cravings for high quality food while supporting the cultivation of the students’ skills in the kitchen.
Its consistently excellent reviews in TripAdvisor are a testament to the fact that this place never disappoints. From the description of their original recipes in the menu to the way they plate and serve the finished product – everything about Talents makes the students’ enthusiasm about their next culinary experiment apparent. Even though the restaurant has earned its reputation as a high-end Sofia establishment, its reasonable prices and unimposing ambiance make it a place you could visit time and again.
The staff are also students of the institute. Over the course of every dinner at Talents they make sure you know your patronage is appreciated. (Last time we visited, we tried a complimentary sour cherry sorbet from fruit harvested from one of the student’s gardens. Talk about a personal touch!)
MoMa is the epitome of the modernistic face of Bulgarian restaurants nowadays. It revolves around a culinary escapade with truly authentic recipes.
